Friday Finds

I am so glad it is Friday.... honestly I am just ready for January to be over and my wish is close to coming true. I thought I would share a few things to kick off your weekend. *Have you seen this yet? I saw it weeks ago and find myself still watching it. Love. it. so. much. Go head and watch it. I'll be waiting for you when you return.

*Are you a Netflix junkie? I really do love to binge watch tv shows. In fact, we have been exclusive Netflix/Hulu people for so long that I've forgotten how to watch regular tv. Currently, I'm binging on Gilmore Girls & Friends. Is your world complete like mine because of these additions?

*I am dreaming of warmer weather--dare I even say I've thought about swim suits... like this one.

*I feel like this look captures the cozy way I want to feel when the weather is so cold. And you can never go wrong with polka dots especially if they are gold! That is swoon-worthy.

*Last Friday I talked about finds at Ikea specifically some house plants. Wouldn't a house plant look amazing in this!!

*This week, I walked around my house and snapped pictures of things/spaces that need to be organized. #thestruggleisreal Wrapping paper/gift bags are one of them. I could do something like this. Another area that I'm always trying and re-trying ideas is paper storage. Maybe this idea could work for me.

*You know me, Friday Finds are nothing without Jimmy Fallen. He just makes me smile. Bless him. This one involves Martin Short and Jerry Seinfeld... hilarious.

*Lastly, I'm currently reading this book by Jen Hatmaker. Have you read it?

Hope you guys have a great weekend! We have a date night tonight (Holla!) and friends coming over for dinner on Saturday. Gonna be fun!

Friday Finds (Ikea Style)

One of the best things about where we live is that it only takes us about 20 minutes to get to Ikea. If you know me, then you know that I really enjoy Ikea... for the most part. There is something so inspiring about walking through a showroom that shows you entire livings spaces completely finished in different square feet. When we renovated our Ocoee Street home, we chose to use Ikea for our kitchen and girls' bathroom so we clearly love Ikea. It's been awhile since I've been to Ikea and I'm really itching to go. Plus, they are about to launch their new kitchens!! I am seriously excited to see what these new and improved kitchens are like. You can read about it here and here.

1. We need two chairs for our bedroom to create a functional space for us as a retreat. Since we live in a small house, we need another area where we can escape our children when we want to have a conversation or read. These chairs are new and I really like their style.

2. One thing we did when we moved in was replace 3 of the nasty outdated ceiling fans (in the kitchen, living room & playroom). Now that the girls have moved into the room formerly known as my office, we need to remove that fan, too. It really is a hazard since the girls could hit their head when climbing up to the top bunk. I'm thinking something like this ceiling light.

3. Since we signed our lease for another year, we decided that we really need to work on creating a functional, enjoyable outdoor space. I've had my eye on this sectional since last spring to surround our fire pit.

4. & 5. & 9. For whatever reason, I've never been one for artificial plants inside however when you have a cat that eats EVERYTHING (especially flowers/plants/leaves) and makes himself sick then artificial may be my only option. There is a spot in my living room that seems to need a little something like this or this. I also LOVE this galvanized bucket/pot for either the inside or my front steps. (ya'll, my front steps need some serious attention, too).

6. I'm crushing on this cowhide rug to go in our bedroom with the 2 chairs to help create its own little sitting area.

7. & 8. Do you ever just get tired of your bedding? I really do love white and we've had white for years, but then I saw this picture on Instagram and I was really drawn to it. Something about it looks so cozy. Here and here.

Friday Finds

With the holidays seriously around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share with you one of my favorite things on this week's Friday Finds. For the past two years, I have asked for a custom bag for christmas. I am pretty low maintenance when it comes to bags however I have a very specific opinion about what I want. I try to make a purse last a year before switching out--I'm not somebody who changes bags with each outfit. Not that there is anything wrong with that... it's just not something I want to think about. A couple of years back, I began my search for a new purse. There was nothing in the stores that I liked enough to carry it for a year. I am pretty picky. I can't tell you how many hours I searched Etsy for what I had in my mind. During that time, my mom took my oldest on a field trip and met one of the moms. My mom came home telling me about how I needed to meet Joanna. Not only would I like her but she creates custom bags. So I stalked looked her up on Etsy & Facebook and she had some bags that I had already looked at but didn't realize she was LOCAL! Double win!!

You guys. She is incredible. Her quality is as nice as what you would find in a store. She has impeccable attention for details. My first bag was her Madison Tote in navy chevron with a flower pin and my second bag was a Lizzy clutch in light gray fabric with faux brown leather.. Joanna has many options of bags to choose from and the fabric choices are completely up to you. You can customize your bag however you want! She has all kinds of bags ranging from totes to clutches to wallets to beach bags to camera straps and so much more! Not only would something like this make for good Christmas gifts but also great bridesmaid gifts. Go to her Facebook page (you can contact her and order through there) and I promise you will get lost in all the pictures of products. So much beauty!! Here are a few to wet your appetite....

Joanna is seriously one of the nicest, coolest people I've met. So super talented. She and her husband also do photography. They have two girls (freshman in college and kindergartener) and are now in the process of adopting.

If a handbag is on your wishlist for this season, I encourage you to check her out!

Hey there people (in case you didn't realize it, you are my people, you are loved)... Friday got here quicker than I imagined. My girls were out of school the first part of this week so I feel like I blinked and it was Friday. I hope you have fun plans with those you love. Here are a few things to kick it off for you... *this season has been rough on me and the girls. I have been sipping coffee in the am and camomile tea in the evenings to help. My friend is launching a new retail space in TN and I want this mug for my drank. You can find them on Instagram @meristum and @brookstshirts ADORABLE! *I am itching for some new fall wear. My tall boots purchased from Target two years ago are struggling. I'm talking... falling apart. Here are some of my interests Here, here and really want all of this look. *how much do you love this laundry room My laundry space in the rental is literally a tiny closet.

*If you feel the woes of renting, I've been in a series called For Rent. You can see Part 1 and Part 2.

*I want two of these to go in front of our bed. Yesterday they were $99 and today $75! Maybe I can twist the hubby's arm #prettyplease *And what would Friday Finds be without Jimmy Fallon. I asked my husband to surprise me with a trip to see Jimmy Fallon in NYC #hinthint I love how Jimmy can't stop laughing here and then these impressions are incredible! Enjoy your weekend!
